But it’s actually a Pro-Touring build which has such a long list of goodies, we may have trouble keeping this description short. The car features suspension upgrades, custom body treatment, and many engine and driveline modifications. A quick look over the car and you’re able to see that the exterior has been kept simple, and the interior has stock bucket seats, but something about the car makes you confident in making the assumption that there is more than meets the eye. The car featured here is a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro finished in Trixster Orange Metallic paint over a black interior. As a car that is considered a pro-touring build, a simple exterior shouldn’t be too much of a surprise since a pro-touring model is a car that has all aspects that affect performance modified or upgraded. Spoilers at the front and rear are notably absent, the hood has no louvers, and it is not a cowl hood. Other than the Trixster Orange Metallic paint and the aftermarket wheels, there are no outward hints to what lies beneath.The paint was applied by Keith Strong, formerly of Ice Nine Customs, which is a shop known for impressive custom projects. The paint is like glass, with even color and high gloss throughout. The body panels are dialed in and line up as they should, and chrome and brightwork is in beautiful condition. The car has a slight rake and sits on Boze 18 inch alloy wheels wrapped in sticky BFGoodrich tires. A neat and tidy interior hides the many neatly integrated modifications present, which could fool the average Joe. Those who know what to expect from a first generation Camaro interior will immediately spot the gauge cluster that is mounted on the center console. The “horseshoe” shifter sits above a carbon fiber trim panel, and a few toggle switches are neatly integrated next to the knob for the lights. A Pioneer stereo and Holley EFI display panel make up the visible electronic modifications. While left simple, the interior is nicely kept and presents well. A quick glance into the engine bay brings the saying, “there’s no replacement for displacement” to mind. A finely detailed 468ci V8 sits under the hood and is mated to an upgraded 700R4 automatic transmission. A Holley Sniper electronic fuel injection has been installed taking the place of carburetion, and a BeCool radiator and transmission cooler help keep the driveline cool. A Currie Ford 9” rear end helps get the power to the extra wide wheels and tires. The wide wheels fit in the rear wheel wells thanks to a mini-tub completed with parts from DSE. In order to make this car handle like it’s on rails, a number of upgrades were made, with the first being DSE’s Speed 1 front suspension components. The DSE quadralink rear suspension includes Koni shocks, and subframe connectors were added. A Baer braking system which consists of discs on all four corners help bring this car to a stop.
