The car has been respectfully upgraded to make it as enjoyable a present-day road car as it is as a collectible. The car’s VIN decodes and identifies the car as an original notchback coupe with 289 cid engine, produced at Ford’s Dearborn, Michigan assembly plant. The white exterior paint—an excellent choice to showcase the purity of the car’s design—has been professionally applied. The finish is uniformly glossy with no obvious defects or damage. All factory badges—including the F-o-r-d letters on the hood, the center-grille running horse, the “289” and Mustang-logo front-fender emblems, and rear-center Mustang-logo fuel-filler cap—are properly in place. Dual exhaust exits through the rear valance in the GT style. Chrome bumpers and limited chrome body trim is in well-maintained, original condition. Cabin glass and all lighting lenses are clear and free of cracks or notable wear indications. Chrome Cragar® SS wheels are mounted with Firehawk indy 500® raised-white-letter performance tires. The red interior adds excitement. Horizontally pleated, red-vinyl upholstery covers the front buckets and rear bench seat. It’s also present on the door-panel inserts. Carpeting is matching bright red. An added, full-length console in black (with metal trim) bisects the bucket seats and houses the 4-speed manual transmission shifter. A wood-rim, Mustang-logo, 3-spoke sport steering wheel with brushed metal trim frames the original factory instrument cluster. The dash combines a padded top over lower freshly red-painted metal; a factory-style replacement Mustang-branded radio is mounted. Under the hood, the legendary 289 cubic-inch V8 powerplant (not the original engine) occupies a clean, well-ordered, and tidy engine bay. The engine block is painted Ford-blue, with finned-aluminum valve covers and a chrome air-cleaner cover added for flair. The presentation is thankfully free of shine-enhancing spray-on products. All components are properly mounted; all hoses and wiring are properly routed.
